American interior designer Kelly Wearstler has ventured into the world of musical instruments with Timbra, a striking rimless piano inspired by the fluid forms of sand dunes.
Based in Los Angeles, Wearstler created this sculptural piece in collaboration with British bespoke piano maker Edelweiss, a long-time partner. The design reimagines the traditional grand piano, blending organic movement with refined craftsmanship.

A one-week intensive training session led by American piano expert David Stanwood was recently held in Switzerland, organized and sponsored by FJV Piano Design.
Technicians from various backgrounds gathered to learn Stanwood’s SNAP method, working hands-on with three concert grand pianos from Yamaha, Bösendorfer, and Steinway & Sons.

The Grand Regulation Guides are designed to cover a range of key adjustment parameters, including six blow distances (43–48 mm), six set-off (let-off) positions (2–7 mm), and six damper lift settings (21.5–24 mm). They can also assist in evaluating checking, along with improved key height references ranging from 62–67 mm.
